Oceano Jewels was born from a profound love of the

ocean and a desire to reimagine pearl jewelry with a

contemporary edge. Founded in 2015 by Harriet

Batchelor Rountree, the designer draws from her roots

as a sculptress and art restorer, where touch, texture,

and rhythm shape her vision. Every jewel shimmers

with vitality—ethereal, flowing, and alive. Oceano is

redefining the way pearls are worn—modern,

distinctive, and effortlessly timeless. Every creation is

meticulously handcrafted in our atelier on the southern

shores of Mauritius, where craftsmanship and artistry

come together.

HARRIET’S STORY

Harriet is passionate about Art and History. She

specialized in Greek Archeology at the Louvre

museum and lived 17 years in Rome where she worked

as an art restorer, restoring antique paintings and

creating sculptures in bronze and clay. Passion for art

brought her to create her jewelry brand Oceano which

she conceived as wearable art. The name Oceano is a

tribute to her love for Italy and for her home Island

Mauritius. The energy of the ocean is an inspiration

for her art, her well being and her jewelry. The Oceano

Logo is designed to mirror a wave, a signature from
